Where to store crops that aren't accepted at silos?

When you're waiting for the best price, where do you store crops that don't go in the silos, like sugar beets and grapes? I've been looking in the Construction menu and can't find any building or structure to store these crops. And while we're at it, what about olives, potatoes, and sugarcane?

Potatoes and beets can be stored in a pile, I’ve not done the others.

That doesn't seem very efficient. How would you quickly get the potatoes or beets back into a trailer when it's time to sell them?

Front loader, wheel loader, telehandler, skid steer just to name a few. By the way potatoes are stored on the ground in real life situations as well. Crops can also be stored at the train silos.

I haven’t done in FS22, but in 19 I would use a conveyer belt setup with the Lizard one to pick it up off the ground and the grimme one that elevated it into the trailer. It took a little time, but it was easy. I could get it going, go do something else for a few minutes, and come back. Depending on how big the pile was, I’d have to reposition it a few times.

There’s no place like utopia.

I recommend the double bunker shed that giants has in the game. Store them on the ground in it. You can use the small conveyer belt lift it to one of the new red augers to fill up your trailer. Place the conveyer belt anywhere in the shed and it picks up everything on that side of the bunker. It actually works really well - almost as good as a silo.

I'm playing on Elmcreek and you can store sugar beets and potatoes, in fact most things in the train station silo on the far left of the map of the railway track. You can drop of at the silo and when you want to sell your crop there is a silo next to the railway station that you can load your crops into a trailer or use it to fill the train. Hope this helps.

when playing on hard mode and starting out, I only use railway silos for storage.

as unlike fs17 which charged you for the privilege of utilising railway silo for the storage by levying a charge dependent on how much said storage you were using at midnight each day, in fs22 you are only charged the rental cost of the train IF and when it is used, the storage aspect of the silo at the station cost nothing.

meaning that just because you are using the railway silo doesn't mean you are beholden to just selling via the train, but can also load it into trailers to take elsewhere, else use the train to take bulk amounts between railway silo that are closer to the intended sell-point, which is useful on the French map, given the north and south railway silos.

piles and belts! Btw, if you haven't, push some piles around. It works so much better and is actually a lot of fun. I was able to move about 200k L of beets in no time using the belts and a leveler to push. Took about as long to deliver them as it did to load them each time.

Thank you! This seems like the quickest suggestion. I'll try this method. I already know about the train silo, I wanted something closer to the farm.

I wonder where they store potatoes on the ground. I live in an area of potato farms, and around here they are stored indoors in potato houses.

To be fair, under the belts section, theres a belt where you unload potatoes and it puts them into pallets for you. Then you could store them in a garage, or if they bring back the potato warehouse from FS19
